We live in a place called Lake Bernadette. Like many newer communities in FL, we have a CDD and an HOA. These two things came close to me saying no to living here. Finally decided I could probably live with it and here we are.
Starting probably 6 months ago or so, we wanted to start getting involved in our community. We had tried doing some research, finding minutes online, etc. for the HOA and CDD. Almost nothing. The ony thing we found was:
http://www.greenacreproperties.com/associations.aspFrom there, you can search Pasco county for "Lake Bernadette" to find some broken links. That's it (other than ads for the golf course and Realtors).
After over a year, finally made it to the first meeting. It was a CDD meeting. All of about 15 people out of almost 1000 households turned up. One was a student there for a civics class project. Other than myself and two or three others, the rest appeared to be retirees. I just kind of sat and listened this time. Next time, at a minimum, I'm going to start asking about records. With two young children, making these meetings is rough. Would be nice to at least have easy access to the meeting minutes.
