Lake Bernadette

We live in a place called Lake Bernadette. Like many newer communities in FL, we have a CDD and an HOA. These two things came close to me saying no to living here. Finally decided I could probably live with it and here we are.

Starting probably 6 months ago or so, we wanted to start getting involved in our community. We had tried doing some research, finding minutes online, etc. for the HOA and CDD. Almost nothing. The ony thing we found was:
http://www.greenacreproperties.com/associations.asp
From there, you can search Pasco county for "Lake Bernadette" to find some broken links. That's it (other than ads for the golf course and Realtors).

After over a year, finally made it to the first meeting. It was a CDD meeting. All of about 15 people out of almost 1000 households turned up. One was a student there for a civics class project. Other than myself and two or three others, the rest appeared to be retirees. I just kind of sat and listened this time. Next time, at a minimum, I'm going to start asking about records. With two young children, making these meetings is rough. Would be nice to at least have easy access to the meeting minutes.

Day 1, Bradley slept.
Days 2 and 3, Bradley screamed.
Late day 3, Karen removed all dairy from her diet.
Day 4, Bradley, ate, slept, and pooped. So did we, as he was no longer screaming.
Day 5 to day 8 or so, Bradley is sleeping 3 or so hours in a shot at night.

It looks like Bradley has the same problem that Gregory did. Some sort of negative reaction to dairy in mommy's diet. It looks like, with the exception of Gregory, we'll be a dairy free household for the next year. It's a shame we didn't figure this out sooner with Gregory. Thankfully, for Bradley, we knew what was up.

We are not out of the woods yet for colic, but things are looking positive. He is "cluster feeding", which is one of the first steps towards sleeping through the night. It sounds like we won't know for sure about the colic until the 6 week mark. Please cross your fingers with us.
:)

A few more pictures up here:
http://berman.nu/gallery/bradley_first_days?page=7

Welcome Bradley Eric Berman!

Bradley Eric Berman was born at 10:26 today (7/7/07). Weight at birth was 8 pounds, 6 oz. 19 3/4 inches.

Mom and baby are doing well. He is, of course, quite adorable. We have no clue on this hair color. He has a smallish patch in back, but that is about it so far. I'm thinking possibly red, but Karen is thinking brown. We both agree it'll probably be a couple of months before anyone knows for sure.

I'll try to post some pictures, etc. soon. Odds are it'll be Monday.

Michael
